Mudjimba, Friday 1 Oct

I know that I've been saying this for a long time, but it still holds... Sorry I haven't been keeping you up-to- date but there's been nothing much to report.  Until this morning we were still at Coolum Beach.  Settled in to a routine.  Rise early (for us). After breakfast, walk the short distance to the surf club.  (It still amazes me that I'm now a member of a surf club) and have coffee out on the upstairs deck (has to be one of the best decks in the country). And the coffee is very good and very inexpensive for members. And we've seen whales every morning for at least the last four days. And so on, depending on the weather (the Coolum beach is not so attractive when the wind gets up). But now we're at Mudjimba, about 10 min down the road.  It's because of a mix-up in our Coolum booking, but we'll be able to return there on Monday.  And tomorrow we're going to do some serious planning to see whether we can actually come home one day.  But in th...

Hi again.  Sorry I haven't posted any updates for such a long time, but once again it almost seems as if there's not much to report.  But here goes anyway... We came down here a week ago, a very short trip.  It has been comfortably warm here but we've had wind for the last couple of days so the beach has been less enticing.  Mid twenties, so great in a sheltered spot.  On Tuesday we drove back to Noosa for coffee at Season, our favourite Noosa coffee spot.  It's only about a 20 minute drive, so no more of a disincentive than going in to Warragul from Crossover.  Lots of discussion here in the caravan park about the rules for getting back into Victoria and several are setting out to do the 24 hour dash (especially those whose caravan park spot becomes unavailable over the school holidays). Our life here is comfortable but once again we've settled down into a bit of a routine... We're still hoping that we'll be allowed home one day but not yet will...

We've moved. But still in Noosa. 3 Sept.

It's Friday and it's cooler today and partly cloudy.  We're in our new apartment on Noosa Parade, where we came on Tuesday.  It's very comfortable, and has two bedrooms but is not as spacious as our place in Little Cove.  Here's the view from the deck adjoining our living room... And here's a few pics of what we've been up to recently...  Fish and chips beside the river this evening, with GOOD music. A nice ride to the river mouth. The view from the top of Mount Tinbeerwah. Noosa Main Beach. Season Restaurant, our favourite (almost every morning) coffee spot. Best wishes to all. Still hoping we can come home one day.

Now almost 3 weeks at Noosa, Sunday 29 August

Hi again, and once again, greetings.  Well we're still here and all is going well. As well as holidaying, we're taking care of business. Judy has had her (hopefully) final appointment with her skin specialist and he's pleased with how her face is healing (and so are we!!), so swimming is back on the program.  We've had the ute serviced and we've both had haircuts. Rob's is just his usual and, of course, Judy went to a different hairdresser so she now has a fresh new cut which will be perfect for swimming ... Today we drove out to Boreen Point for a look around and lunch at the pub. There was a lovely collection of Ferraris there... And there was a regatta on the lake, with a whole lot of boats just ending their day and coming in (in almost a dead calm) as we arrived.  Best wishes from us.  The numbers aren't looking good and we may never be allowed home but we hope to see everyone one day.

Still at Noosa, Wed 25 August

Hello again and greetings from Noosa. Well, we're still here, just starting our third week in our Little Cove apartment.  Once our three weeks here are over, we have another week in another place [St Tropez (!)] and then we'll be back in the van.  We have a couple of places around here where we can go for a while but we have no idea about when [or if] we can come home, because NSW lies between us and home. But if we can live with that sort of uncertainty, it's pretty nice to be here. Today we had to go a little south to Maroochydore, for Judy's appointment with her skin specialist.  That gave us a chance for lunch at The Boatshed at Cotton Tree.  While we've had a few human visitors, we thought you might like to see one our other visitors.  There were two of them and they stayed all day.  They both looked to be very wise. And yesterday was forecast to be cloudy with a few showers, unlike the rest of the weather we've been having, so we drove to Nambou...

Noosa, Sat 14 August

Hello again, this time from beautiful Noosa.  We arrived here on Tuesday and already the time has flown.  We're up in our favourite area, Little Cove and our caravan is parked with Judy's old friends at Tinbeerwah. Once again the weather has been great, although we're typically having days around 22C rather than the ~28C we were having at Airlie Beach.  We've already settled into a bit of a pattern here. And enjoying it immensely!  Not much more to report 'cos it's so quiet (although we did have a lot of angst as our time here approached: we had to leave Airlie Beach on Sunday if we were to be here by Tuesday but Noosa was in lockdown.  So we had to drive south toward Noosa and if lockdown ended we would keep driving south.  But if the decision on that Sunday was for the lockdown to be extended we were going to have to abandon our Noosa holiday, do a U- turn and head north(!)). Hope all at home are staying sane and safe.  J&R

It has been quite a while since we put anything up here.  Sorry.  We've been having superb weather, days in the mid twenties with blue skies (and very occasional clouds) and gentle breezes. Yesterday took a trip by fast boat out to Whitehaven and nearby beaches,  so here are a few of Judy's hundreds of photos... Victoria is again in lockdown! We're thinking of you and wish you well.
